1. Continue to save energy and reduce emissions, and transform into green and low-carbon development
How to better achieve energy conservation, emission reduction and low-carbon development has become the primary task for the development of all industries. The Fourteenth Five Year Plan for the Development of Fiberglass Industry proposed that by the end of the Fourteenth Five Year Plan, the comprehensive energy consumption of products in all major production lines should be reduced by 20% or more than that by the end of the Thirteenth Five Year Plan, and the average carbon emission of fiberglass yarn should be reduced to less than 0.4 tons of carbon dioxide/ton of yarn (excluding power and heat consumption). At present, the comprehensive energy consumption of roving products of large-scale intelligent tank kiln production line has been reduced to 0.25 tons of standard coal/ton of yarn, and the comprehensive energy consumption of spinning products has been reduced to 0.35 tons of standard coal/ton of yarn. The whole industry should speed up the intelligent transformation process of various production lines, actively carry out energy efficiency management benchmarking, closely focus on energy conservation and emission reduction and low-carbon development to carry out technical equipment transformation, process technology innovation and operation management improvement, and thus promote the optimization, adjustment and standardized management of the industrial structure, and promote high-quality development of the industry.
2. Strengthen self-discipline management of the industry and standardize fair market competition
In 2021, under the situation of stricter energy consumption policy and better downstream market, the industry’s capacity supply is insufficient, the price of glass fiber products continues to rise, and ceramic glass fiber capacity takes this opportunity to develop rapidly, seriously disrupting the market order and causing adverse effects on the industry. To this end, the Association has actively organized the government, enterprises, society and other forces, carried out special activities to investigate and eliminate backward production capacity, increased publicity, and launched the signing of the Self discipline Convention on the Rejection of the Production and Sales of Ceramic Glass Fiber and Products Industry, which has initially formed a linkage working mechanism to effectively combat backward production capacity. In 2022, the whole industry should continue to pay close attention to the investigation and treatment of backward production capacity, and work together to create a healthy, fair and orderly market competition environment for the transformation of the glass fiber industry.
At the same time, the industry should seize the opportunity of green and low-carbon development in the transformation of the construction industry, jointly do a good job in basic research, explore and establish a more scientific evaluation system for the performance indicators of glass fiber products for construction, and guide the benchmarking and grading of the performance data of various types of glass fiber products, On this basis, the coordination of industrial policies and the connection between supply and demand of the industrial chain should be well done, and fair competition in the market should be standardized. At the same time, we will actively do a good job in production technology innovation, continue to improve product performance and grade, expand market application fields, and constantly expand market application scale.
3. Do a good job in application research and product development, and serve the implementation of the “double carbon” development strategy
As an inorganic non-metallic fiber material, glass fiber has excellent mechanical and mechanical properties, physical and chemical stability and high temperature resistance. It is a key material for the production of wind turbine blades, high-temperature flue gas filter materials, reinforced skeleton of building thermal insulation material system, lightweight automotive and rail transit components and other products. The State Council’s Action Plan for Achieving Carbon Peak by 2030 clearly proposes to focus on the implementation of ten major actions, including the “Green and Low Carbon Transformation Action for Energy”, “Carbon Peak Action for Urban and Rural Construction”, and “Green and Low Carbon Action for Transportation”. Glass fiber is an important basic material to support green and low carbon actions in energy, construction, transportation and other fields. In addition, glass fiber, with excellent electrical insulation and mechanical properties, is the key raw material for making copper clad laminate for electronic communications, supporting the safe and healthy development of China’s electronics and electronic communications industry. Therefore, the whole industry should seize the development opportunities brought by the implementation of China’s “dual carbon” goal, carry out application research and product development closely around the development needs of carbon emission reduction in various fields, constantly expand the application scope and market scale of glass fiber and products, and better serve the implementation of China’s economic and social “dual carbon” development strategy.
